After yesterday’s article, Boost Your Workouts and Nutrition With Protein Powder Smoothies, I thought you’d like a few protein powder smoothie recipes to get you started. In that article I also shared the top vegan protein sources.
Make sure you read the label when purchasing your protein powders. Some cheap protein powders are full of sugary carbs, chemicals and little protein content. Always choose all natural products without unnecessary added artificial ingredients. You’ll find that when most of the protein powders say they are sugar free, they just load up on dangerous artificial sweeteners. So read those labels carefully!
Personally, I only use vegan protein sources. I have used pea protein, chia and brown rice protein, along with some that are mixed with greens. There are so many choices. I’ve done a lot of research in the last year to make a decision for myself and hemp protein is an excellent choice for me because of the omega fatty acids you can get at the same time and the high fiber content. Very few people come anywhere close to the amount of daily fiber you should have.
Here’s one that has a very good rating and it also gives you omega 3 & 6 and a high amount of fiber as well. It’s Manitoba Harvest Organic Hemp Pro Fiber Protein Supplement, 32 Ounce The great thing is you can not only use it in your smoothies, you can add it to oatmeal or to baked goods. The best part is it only has 1 ingredient. Check it out for yourself here.
Drinking smoothies like this is an easy first step to take into the world of vegan meals. It’s not difficult at all!
