Surrender or Give Up

Do You Surrender or Give Up?

Many people see both surrender and giving up as defeat. In reality, there is a big difference between surrender and giving up.

Having an ageless spirit is about approaching life from a place of strength. You surrender from a place of strength when you don’t feel the need to explain or defend. You surrender into something when you have an inner knowing that allows you to release it and let it go.

Giving up is just that. When someone says, “I give up!”, it’s said from a place of frustration and resignation. There is no power in giving up.

Surrender is when you give in to allowing rather than controlling. Giving up is when you admit you can’t surrender.

Surrendering requires the courage to let go and get in the flow of things, knowing you don’t have to micromanage everything.

By contrast, giving up usually occurs after you’ve tried everything you can think of, refusing to trust, refusing to get in the flow, micromanaging and trying to force your own desired end result, regardless of the surrounding circumstances.

In A Course in Miracles, it talks about how your freedom is in your defenselessness. Being able to surrender control and surrender forcing an outcome gives you peace as well.

Surrender is not about being controlled, someone else winning or being a victim. Surrender is your power and strength.

Your ability to surrender starts with a shift in your perspective. Try it and see what happens. You might just find it gives you a big boost in creating an ageless lifestyle after 50. And it could make your life a whole lot easier.
