There are many beliefs people hold about what it means to have a healthy body, and what it means to be ageless.
Having a healthy body and an ageless body may be easier for you to achieve than you think. Healthy food is not the only key here.
The article below is not a transcript of the video, both contain additional information the other does not.
What is a healthy body to you?
Being thin is not necessarily healthy or ageless. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been really thin and not healthy more than once. It’s possible that when you are too thin you don’t have enough muscle or fat for your body to look good or function properly. That means you’re not going to look youthful or be ageless.
How about taking vitamins, is that enough?
Do you take supplements? Since I first started researching health and nutrition in 1981 I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t taking supplements. It’s only a question of how many.
Still, I don’t believe supplements are enough.
For one thing, there’s the issue of absorbability.
Also what most people don’t know is that the quality of the plant, when it’s harvested and how it’s processed makes a difference. What part of the plant is used also makes a difference. And if all that isn’t enough, how long it takes to get to you makes a difference.
So many factors determine the quality of the ingredients in the supplements you take, which of course, determine their effectiveness in your body. On top of that, there’s the question of how those nutrients get absorbed in your body. That depends on the delivery system.
The old standard used to be to put your vitamins in a glass of water and see how long it takes them to dissolve. Now there are so may special technologies that deliver the nutrients inside your body, that may not be the only test. It does still work for solid capsules.
About 10 years ago I had been taking a calcium supplement from a well-known health food store and found out through a chiropractor taking an x-ray that they were passing through entirely whole! I could see the capsules in my body.
I did the glass of water test when I got home and 24 hours later they were as hard as a rock. For some reason, I had not done the test when I bought them like I usually did. That was the last time I let that happen!
Weight loss isn’t enough…
although being at your optimum natural weight is part of it.
We’re talking about the average person, not someone who has a medical condition that prohibits their weight loss.
It is possible for people that don’t have a medical situation to get back down to their high school weight, or close to it.
For most of my adult life, I’ve been within 10% of my high school weight. For the last 8 or 9 years, I’ve been within 5 pounds of my high school weight, which at 60+ I feel pretty good about. It just takes paying attention to a few key components to having an ageless body to make this happen.
What type of diet do you follow? Meat eater, paleo, keto, gluten-free, plant-based, vegetarian, vegan, raw?
You could lose weight on any of these diets, but determining if the way you choose is healthy for you long term is another thing.
Healthy eating is somewhat subjective. You also want to take into account having a heart-healthy diet, because you’re not healthy if your heart is being damaged over time by the way you eat.
Do you believe there’s one way of eating that’s the healthiest?
Or that everybody is different?
There are so many ways of eating and I believe that everyone’s body is different, although I don’t believe that eating animals is necessary for health.
It’s important to figure out which way of eating is right for you. You can do this by eliminating, or by adding one food at a time. The key is to give it enough time to gauge if it is having a positive or negative effect on how you feel.
When I stopped eating meat 28 years ago, I was constantly explaining myself. I didn’t know anyone else who didn’t eat meat. There were no vegetarian restaurants where I lived.
My family didn’t understand, but it was the right decision for me.
I eliminated one type of meat at a time until they were all gone. I do still eat a little seafood so my way of eating would be called a pescatarian.
Do you use a fitness tracker?
You can hear more about why I chose the one I did in the video.
What I love about a fitness tracker is that you can put in the water you drink, the food you eat, your basic info and it will tell you how many calories you are using, how many calories you have left in the day depending on your level of activity that day.
It tracks any weight loss goal you have. And it takes care of automatically tracking the steps you take, your exercise time, and your sleep patterns. It’s up to you if you also want to track your heart rate on an upgraded model.
As an entrepreneur, especially if you work at home, you have to make an effort to get up from your desk and make sure you move during the day. A fitness tracker helps with that. Mine is set to buzz me at 10 minutes before the hour if I haven’t reached my hourly step goal.
Fewer steps mean you have fewer calories to eat for the day. More steps mean you’ll either lose weight or you have more calories to eat.
What is an ageless healthy body?
If you’re ready to have an ageless body, click on the eBook cover to the right to get started!
It’s not about looking like you’re 20 or having great abs, although it’s possible.
You don’t’ have to be a Gym rat. Or eat like a rabbit.
I believe having an ageless body and being ageless starts with the glow from within that happens when you are properly fueling your body.
It is about being able to function at the level you did when you were younger because that is possible. And for people who haven’t had a healthy body before, you will be functioning at a level you have never experienced before.
It’s it great to know you could be in better shape and healthier after 50 that you ever were before?
Having an ageless body means you can make it through the day without being tired or needing a nap.
You’re eating and living in a way that allows you to have clear brain function.
You have a clear mind so you can stay focused and have a good memory. This is because you’re taking in the nutrients that allow your brain to work at full capacity.
You have the strength to do the tasks that come up in your daily life.
You have the flexibility to bend over and pick something up.
You can carry heaven bags up a few flights of stairs. You can walk up stairs without holding on to the railing. You can play with little kids without being out of breath.
When you’re creating an ageless business…
it’s important that you have the stamina and energy to run your business with a full plate in your life at the same time. That takes a lot of brain function which comes from giving your body the nutrition it needs to fuel your brain.
You may be thinking that reduced brain function or lower energy is part of the aging process. It is for people who are not living agelessly.
It’s true for those who look to the pharmacy instead of food for the answer to their lowered cognitive function, memory loss or low energy.
That’s not the answer for ageless people.
The answer for us is in learning which foods we need to eat to correct the deficiencies that are creating issues in our bodies. I talk more about this in the video.
Also in the video, I talk more about your age expectancy and the business opportunities you can create later in life.
Being ageless means you can have a life full of adventure and opportunities. It means you never have to say it’s too late for you.
It’s a mindset and a belief system.
It’s also goal setting. If you haven’t reached your goals, what is stopping you? I ask that because sometimes fear of success is stronger than fear of failure.
Some people are more uncomfortable with the unknown of what life will be like when they achieve those goals. They’ve accepted them as unachievable and they are more willing to accept the pain of staying in the same spot.
Go and start moving toward your goals today.
I’m working on something right now that will help you have a healthy, ageless body. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.
Health and nutrition are a big passion of mine because, without your health, all the success you can achieve is meaningless. In 1981 I started seriously studying health, nutrition, and the mind/body connection. I stopped eating meat in 1990 for health reasons and compassion for animals. In 1999 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2005, the day after Christmas, I lost my mother at the age of 69 to lung cancer. Since then, helping others to regain their health by making simple changes has become a driving force in my life.
Until next time, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just comment on this post here or on Facebook.
