Down through the ages, great thinkers, inventors, artists, statesman and philosophers have credited their spiritual connections for their successes.
If this seems like a strange place to begin, you may be wondering what meditation has to do with building wealth and success. For some people it’s a big jump from talking about their ageless spirit to a discussion of wealth and success. But, your spirit is where your beliefs come from and your beliefs about wealth and success can be a major roadblock when it comes to you living an ageless lifestyle after 50.
If you want to live the life of your dreams sooner rather than later, you’ll want to meditate. Daily spiritual practice is the foundation everything else builds upon to create an abundant life of wealth and success.
Let’s be real. If it didn’t take any effort or any changes from what you’re doing now, you’d already be incredibly wealthy and wildly successful. If you already are, I applaud you for reading this article and continuing to grow.
If you don’t have everything you want, you have to ask yourself …“How much effort is the life of my dreams worth to me?”
Another good question to ask yourself is, “Am I willing to do something different in my life to get a better result?”
I can tell you from personal experience that in the years I’ve been following a daily spiritual practice, I’ve seen a tremendous increase in energy, focus, creativity and abundance. Yes, there are many days I don’t feel like getting up early.
But I’ve been doing it long enough that I know the difference in the days I do and the days I don’t, and it’s just not worth the extra time in bed to sacrifice the benefits of the calmness, peace and level of focus it brings.
You can start with something as simple as being grateful for the opportunity of another day. Even before you open your eyes you can say to yourself silently or out loud, “Thank you for this day filled with love, opportunity and abundance.”
Some people find yoga and other types of more meditative exercise to be just the thing to follow their spiritual reading. When I began doing Tae Kwon Do at the age of 40 while living in Cabo in the 90’s, I found doing the forms, very meditative.
Any type of daily spiritual practice will keep you uplifted while you achieve the level of wealth and success you desire. It will also keep you grounded in the truth of who you are.
Every major religion has a book full of great spiritual reading. You could read from different texts and get a broad view of many different beliefs. You may be surprised to find how much common ground there is from one text to another.
A book with no affiliation to any particular religion is The Course in Miracles. I’ve been a student of the Course for more than 20 years. At one point it says, “You would never be afraid if you knew who walked beside you.” I love that quote. It reminds us that we’re never alone in our pursuits.
Would you like to be wealthy and successful, full of energy and purpose, living a life that makes you outrageously happy?
Would it be worth getting up a little earlier or missing the first half hour of the news in the morning?
What would you begin today if you believed you didn’t have to do it by yourself?
The first place I would suggest you start is to create your own personal manifesto if you haven’t done it already. This is the foundational document for living an ageless lifestyle after 50. You can get a free guide to creating yours as my gift here.
