Is mindfulness the new meditation? According to Andy Puddicombe it only takes 10 minutes. There is so much talk about mindfulness lately, it seems to be catching on in the mainstream in a way that meditation doesn’t.
I’m wondering if it’s the lack of connection to spirituality that makes it more acceptable. Or, is it that it’s just faster in this age of shorter and shorter attention spans?
Either way, there are merits to mindfulness in all areas of your life.
When you practice mindfulness your ageless spirit will thank you. If you practice mindfulness, you may find that meditation is complementary to a mindfulness practice as part of your ageless lifestyle.
I have been practicing mindfulness for 30 years, without having a name for it.
Having lived in so many beautiful resort areas, I was always aware and appreciative of the beauty that surrounded me.
Then I started to be present to my life daily when I was gardening or enjoying my view or relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Even now, it’s like I have snapshots of moments of mindfulness in my life from 20 or even 30 years ago.
To me, mindfulness is a more conscious level of meditation rather than going deep into a meditative state.
