Does God Listen to Your Prayers?

On Sunday, September 14th my world shifted as my home in Cabo San Lucas Mexico was hit head on by hurricane Odile. It was a category 4 (only goes up to 5) hurricane with winds, depending on what you read, of 125-140MPH.

Huddled in the shower with the building swaying, wind howling, glass shattering, there was some praying going on. I would venture to say that a whole lot of people were all praying at the same time, in different languages and possibly to different versions of God at the same time.  I’m guessing we were all pretty much praying for the same thing, to get out alive. Past that, in the moment, everything else is a bonus.

I am first and foremost a spiritual being having a human experience. I have lived my life from this place for so long that nothing shakes that foundation…not being diagnosed with breast cancer, and not being hit head on with a powerful hurricane.

Having an ageless spirt is one of the 4 components of having an ageless lifestyle after 50, along with an ageless body and an ageless mind. Spirit for most people has some connection to spirituality, if not an organized religion. So asking a question about whether prayers are heard, is God listening to your prayers in particular, seems appropriate.

I turned to someone I respect for his take on this. Here’s what Deepak Chopra has to say. Click here to read more.
