For you, does inspiration come from the inside out or outside in? When you live with a curious ageless mind, these are the kind of questions you ask yourself. The chicken or the egg kind of questions.
The other day a friend asked me if I knew where the word inspiration came from. He thought he might be able to stump me. But no, I’ve known for a long time because I take inspiration very seriously. To me living an inspired live is integral to living an ageless lifestyle after 50.
You may know that inspiration means to be in spirit or one with your higher being, but have you thought beyond that?
I have been meditating for over 20 years now so I’m very familiar with the inspiration that comes from within. It’s what makes us live in gratitude and awe, feeling at one with everything in the Universe. It inspires us to do great things and want to give back.
I was thinking about it just this morning; about the things that inspire us from the outside as opposed to the inspiration we find within ourselves.
Is inspiration from the outside really voyeuristic inspiration?
Are we really inspired by what we witness someone else achieve or even attempt? Or is it that we feel good in that moment, maybe count our blessing, and then in a few minutes go back to our regular routine.
How do you feel when you see something you describe as inspirational? Does it translate to inspired action on your part?
When you see someone triumph over tragedy does it inspire you to take on a new level of challenge in your life?
How about when you see someone complete something that was against all odds?
How about when you see someone move beyond their fear and do it anyway?
Do you take action differently then?
Or is it really a fact that true inspiration can only come directly from God to you?
When you are inspired do you have goals you are moving toward and an action plan to make them happen?
[Tweet “Being inspired requires that, at least momentarily, you are connected to your soul.” Lynn Pierce]
Are you connected to your soul for at least the few seconds it takes for inspiration to flow?
I hope you are living life on fire, actively breathing in every moment of every experience.
To live in the present moment and allow room to feel inspired takes a structure in your life that gives you the space to not have to be confused about the actions you want to take. To be decisive you need to know where you are going.
