Ageless Antioxidant Super Healthy Green Tea Recipe

Ageless Antioxidant Super Healthy Green Tea Recipe

This is my secret concoction that keeps me alive and thriving at least 5 days a week.

Every ingredient has a specific nutritional/healing reason for being included in the tea. I’ve linked to each of those below in the recipe.

I started by adding one ingredient at a time. I added another one as soon as I got used to the taste of what I had already added. You may not like the taste if you try all these ingredients together right away. It’s better to get used to it one ingredient at a time. I actually love the taste of it now.

This keeps you going all morning if you’re practicing intermittent fasting.

The one thing I forgot to mention when I was going through the herbs I add in the video was rosemary. I remembered it as soon as I was snipping off a piece this morning.

Organic green tea bag

To taste:

Cayenne pepper

Star anise

Fresh turmeric

Fresh ginger

Black pepper– a couple turns of the pepper mill

1 Tbsp raw organic coconut oil

Fresh herbs to taste:

Sage (I use 2 big leaves)

Rosemary (a little goes a long way)

End with:

1 Tbsp Raw organic local honey

Slices of lemon

Everything goes in the teapot with a liter (quart) of boiling water except the honey and lemon. They need to be put in after the water has cooled a little.

I let the tea steep for 10-20 minutes, then add the honey and lemon and let it steep another 10 minutes.

If you keep the tea in the container you make it in, rather than putting it in a Yeti or Thermos like I do, the flavors may get a little too strong for you after steeping a couple hours. The pepper will give a much bigger kick.

The ingredients below are key to your health.

I would suggest using them in recipes daily, in fact, the more often the better.

Turmeric, the main spice in curry, is arguably the most powerful herb on the planet at fighting and potentially reversing disease. Coconut oil:

So much has been said about whether coconut oil is good for you in the last week that rather than just post the benefits here, go read this from Dr. Mercola.

Black pepper:

Relief from respiratory disorders, coughs, the common cold, constipation, indigestion, anemia, impotency, muscular strains, dental disease, pyorrhea, diarrhea, and heart disease.

Weight loss, antibacterial, antioxidant, skin health.

Black pepper helps in transporting the benefits of other herbs to different parts of the body, maximizing the efficiency of the other healthy foods that we consume. That is why adding it to foods not only makes them taste delicious but also helps make those nutrients more available and accessible to our system.

Health and nutrition are a big passion of mine because, without your health, all the success you can achieve is meaningless. In 1981 I started seriously studying health, nutrition, and the mind/body connection. I stopped eating meat in 1990 for health reasons and compassion for animals. In 1999 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2005, the day after Christmas, I lost my mother at the age of 69 to lung cancer. Since then, helping others to regain their health by making simple changes has become a driving force in my life.

Until next time, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Just comment on this post here or on Facebook.
