This nice thing about pasta is you don’t have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Put the pot on to boil with a cover. Come back and check it in 20-30 minutes based on your stove. Set the timer for 1 minute less than the minimum time on the pasta bag instructions, and come back when you hear the beep.

Follow the video and you’ll have pasta ready anytime you need something quick and healthy and don’t have time to cook.

I’ve been doing this for years because I lose track of time until I’m already hungry and I want to eat now, not 30 minutes from now. So this little trick has been a lifesaver for me.

When you do the 5 minute pasta, you can heat up the pasta in the microwave or a pan. If you are cooking the veggies, throw the pasta in there with them along with some olive oil. Don’t forget to add more olive oil when you’re serving the prepared dish.

5 Minute Quick and Easy Antioxidant Pasta with Tomato, Basil, and Garlic

1 500g (1 lb) bag of penne or penne rigatoni prepared in advance

One serving:

As much of the pasta as you’d like for one serving.

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

1-2 cloves of garlic, minced (depends on your love of garlic)

3 large leaves of basil, shredded

olive oil to taste

Warm your pasta in the microwave, or if you are heating the sauce, add the pasta.

I like this with raw tomatoes and garlic in the summer.

Otherwise, you can add some olive oil to a pan, and cook the tomatoes until they start getting juicy.

Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the pasta until it is heated and completely mixed with the sauce.

At the very end, shred or tear the basil leaves and add to the pasta.

Serve.
